I first heard about the Black Butterflies Organization through an event they were hosting. What caught my attention was the name of the organization so I googled them and I was instantly attracted. I must have watched the graduation 3 times before I decided to further investigate what they were all about. I just couldn’t get past how happy and fulfilled these women looked as they were accepted into this organization. I recognized one of my coworkers was a part of that graduating class so I questioned her to get more insight. It surprised me how much she glowed when she spoke of her “sisters” that confirmed for me that this was something that I needed to do.

This organization has brought a brand new chapter to me and my daughter’s life. A chapter that will not only enhance me as a Woman, Daughter and Mother but as a sister, this organization has filled voids in my life that I didn’t even know were there. I have now gained 40 plus sisters that will be here for me no matter what I go through in life. I know I will always be able to call on them in my time of need. I have found a place where I can be myself and not worry about being judged, a place where I can feel comfortable to have my daughter call these women “Auntie”. A place that I feel comfortable to be a part of for the rest of my life!

I am now and will always be a Black Butterfly!!
